Mystery Story HWK4 sunday 15th May 2016

I would like to tell you what happened that night. It was about twenty years ago. I can only remember part of the story because it all happened too fast. My memory is not as good as it used to be in the old days.

I had just arrived in London a city famous for the underground, double-decker buses and Buckingham palace. I was an adventurous journalist. Famous worldwide for solving crime and bringing your Times to you every day. The train pulled up on platform eight on king`s Cross St.Pancras. It was the sort of train you would get if you were going to Berlin or Paris. A double-deck train with Virgin labels on the side and a stained glass roof . Inside it was a modern carriage with light on the floor and a red velvet carpet. The seats were made from leather with first class service from the staff.

All you could ever want for a five-hour trip from Rome. I was heading home from my frightful time in Rome. I had been sent there to interview the Pope but when I got there the worst was expecting me. I got kidnapped and found a criminal gang smuggling weapons. I knew what I had to do. I escaped from the kidnappers and got evidence for the police. And before I knew my time in Rome was done.

“This is King`s Cross St.Pancras. Change here for the northern, Piccadilly, Hammersmith and City, Circle, Metropolitan line, National and International trains.” Said the announcement as I got off the train and followed the way out sign. When I was out of the station I went looking for a taxi. I had been searching for ages then there it was the only one I had seen all day. When I got in I said Baker Street. As soon as I said “Baker Street” I realized that the man’s eyebrow went up fast than the Apollo eleven. Then I looked closely at his face it look identical to the man who I took the photo to show the police in Rome. Maybe he was a twin. I tried to seem as nothing happened but it was hard. Then out of the fog I saw Marylebone station. I knew we were close.

When I got off I waited for the man to leave. Eventually he did, so was he the same person or perhaps his brother? I knew that when I got hotel I had to investigate this case. Then I got in the hotel. There was a glamorous chandelier with golden rays of light being reflected off it. When I got up to my room I immediatly went into the case.  I saw the man`s picture on a shop called Dolls. The newspapers caught my attention. On it there were cases of people missing but the strange thing was they all went missing in the same road next to the shop called “Dolls”. And the even stranger thing is that they all went missing at the same time.  At precisely 6:30, rush hour. That gave me ideas were they very organized kidnapper, criminals seeking attention or were the people who had something in common.  The ideas kept on coming through the night.

In the morning I decide to go to this shop called “Dolls”. I got on the  139 going to Waterloo station. I head down to the south of London. As the bus crossed the river I notice that the houses changed from bad to worst. They seem gloomy in this part of town. The fog had just gone down as we approached Waterloo. I got off the bus looking for the road named “Summer Set Avenue”. My search went for hours which seemed like weeks but eventually I had found it and the shop. I had been looking for ages it was almost rush hour the time the beast strikes. I made my way up the street, growing my confidence with every step I take. Knowing that I would be a hero or I would join the other in their perishing days. In the shop window a little door opened with a doll coming out of it. It was me. I was speechless, how do they know me?

I entered the shop, a little bell rang as I opened the door. There was no one in the shop. I walked cautiously. A doll fell of the shelve. My heart was beating like a drum.  Then I heard a strange sound it sounded like a machine with cogs turning and whistles blowing. I felt a shiver up my spine like someone going to attack me. Then the hand struck 6:30. I felt the floor moving spinning upside down.

And there I was sitting in the window sill for eternity. Watching the world fly past me like a bird, through the eyes of the doll that I was speechless about . I still think until this day how young I was and my days on earth were being counted.

The book I read was Running For Gold by Owen Slot

I like this book because it is about a 18-year-old boy named Danny Powell and he is doing A-levels and at the same time he wants to complete his dream of beating Usain Blot in the Olympics but his dad wants him to quit running to go to university like his older brother Rikey. I like the book because it show us the determination Danny has th perceiver through his problems and become a sprinter.

The story begins in 2012 when Danny finds out that the Olympics is in Stratford (London) in the Olympic Park outside his house. Every day after school he works hard with his coach, who is a former athlete, Spike who likes to use the term get killed on the track which means work to your limit. One day, which Danny calls “the worst day ever”, on that day a thief enters the school and steals a handbag. Danny finds himself chasing the thief and he retrieves the hand bag. In assembly the headmaster congratulated Danny for retrieving the handbag. Danny was called to the stage and he talked about his dream of being the champion of the world and beating Usain Bolt. After assembly everyone laughed at Danny and his dream even his best friend Anthony said that Usain Bolt could eat a cheese sandwich before Danny could cross the finishing line. In school people would say ‘dream on Danny!’ this made Danny feel more determine to train harder. He lied to his parent saying he would leave at 6.30 everyday to revise at Anthony’s house instead he would run with Spike preparing for Olympic dreams. On the 20th of May one of the most important races of Danny’s life he would run 100m and he had to complete it in under then 10.20s if he did he would be able to complete in the trail for Team GB and in the trail if he came first or second he earned a place in Team GB. In Sheffield the race started Bang! They were of but then Bang! The racers stop someone started too early and he had to be disqualified. It was not Danny. The rest of the racer line up again at the start line. Bang! This time there was no second gun fired. Danny finds himself trying to chase first place in the end he broke his PB and it was now 10.17s. He qualified for the trails in the Olympic Park. On the 8th of June, Danny came third in the first round of trail, first in his second and he broke the GB fastest time with 10.3s in his third race. He did sub-10s with a 9.99s. In the finals he throne his hamstring and he was close to his dream now he will just wait for 2016 Olympics in Rio.

The book I read was SPY CAT BLACK OUT by Andrew Cope.

The book is about an ordinary cat named Shakespeare who becomes a trainee spy because Professor Cortex wants to make animals spies. He successfully manages to make Lara, the family’s pet dog, a spy dog and Lara’s pups, Spud and Star, also qualified as spy dogs, but he wants a spy cat. The story begins on a cruise ship where there was an unsuspected diamond thief: an 80-year-old lady. She enters cabins to only rob diamonds. She left money filled wallets and emeralds. She only wanted diamonds. She did not work alone across Europe. There were more robberies on trains, banks and only old people took part in it. They all worked for the same man: the Past Master who is a survivor from World War 2. He is an evil genius mind whose intentions are to make no harm, but he wants to bring the world to “the good old days” in the 1950 BC (before computers). He invented a machine called the time machine set to destroy the satellite in Europe so there would be no connections to use phones and computer. Their secret hide out was the Shard’s top floor nearer to the sky. Shakespeare is set a very important mission with the Professor. They would dress up as very rich people and Shakespeare would wear the biggest diamond in the world on his collar. A hand-picked agent was chosen by the past master to steal that diamond. Shakespeare gets cat-knapped and is on the top floor of the Shard by his own. Nobody comes to rescue him. The past master tries to escape, but Shakespeare jumps into his garden mower engine powered wheelchair and they are flying though London. The engine stalled and our hero had to do his job in only 90 seconds before they crash in to London Bridge. The past master was strapped into the chair and if Shakespeare did not react fast enough he would sink after saving the world from a crises. Finally after that mission, Shakespeare becomes an official spy cat.
